The Clubs committee a few years ago set out to restructure our fees to provide a lower cost to the members. The aim at the time of the last fee restructure was to lower our costs and in doing so gain new members which would offset the reduced cost per member and potentially lead to an increase in revenue for our operating and savings targets. Whilst this approach has had some limited success with membership retention it has not led to the projected increases in revenue. Accordingly we cannot continue with the current fee structure.
Our Committee has been working for several months now to establish a new fee structure and operational changes that will deliver what is needed to keep the Club financially sustainable moving forward.
The Committee has unanimously resolved two changes at its last meeting on 7 May 2019:
- A new fee structure. Members can find the new fee structure attached. This will be implemented from 1 June 2019 which is when membership renewal is required.
- We will now move to a rotating roster for lawn maintenance which will require members to contribute to the mowing of lawns once a year. Your class representatives to the Committee will begin speaking with you shortly to organise the roster for lawn maintenance and the finer details for how this system will work.
The combination of the fee restructure and movement to internally maintaining the lawns will deliver positive and essential improvements to our operating budget. This decision is absolutely critical for our Club.
Members, please also note that our Clubs AGM is scheduled for Sunday 28 July 2019, at 12.30 and at the track. Reports will be provided from the committee executive members and all committee positions will need to be re-elected.
